Missions

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19

As part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination, missions is one of our primary focuses.  The word missions refers to the “going”, “sending”, “praying”, and “giving” to the those individuals who are called by God to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.  We believe the local church has an obligation to share the Gospel within our own communities.  We also pray for those who are in other parts of the world sharing the message of hope.

Some of the ways DuBois Alliance Church is actively involved in world missions are:

  • International Worker Partnerships: DuBois Alliance Church has established partnerships with three different missions fields.  We receive regular updates, prayer requests, and need requests from these fields.  We have found that focused partnerships provide us with the ability to invest more deeply into a specific area, rather than spreading ourselves across several mission fields.
  • Missions Conference: DuBois Alliance Church has an annual, week-long missions conference.  Speakers are brought in from various mission fields and share about the work God is doing.  There are services throughout the week, as well as a children’s missions conference.  There are also fun events and meals throughout the week.
  • Short-term Missions Trips: Missions Trips allow opportunities for people to join the missionaries that we are partnered with for 1 or 2 weeks for the purpose of experiencing what they experience so that people are better equipped to support and pray for our missionaries, and the people that they are trying to reach with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Great Commission Women Monthly Meetings: The Great Commission Women meet once a month to pray for our international workers.  They also take up an offering to support missions.  The Great Commission Women also have 2 “adopted” international worker children, who they support and encourage.
  • Weekly Prayer Meeting: There are women in the church who meet weekly to pray over requests they have received from the mission field.
  • Monthly Missions Moments: Each month there is an update on Sunday morning.  This update comes directly from one of the international workers we are partnered with.  This allows the congregation of DuBois Alliance Church to remain connected with the international workers who live in different areas of the world.
